GREENWICH, NY  – The charming town of Greenwich is gearing up for its beloved annual tradition, the 13th Annual Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade, Saturday, November 22, 2025. The 2025 parade proudly honors John D. Pemrick as Grand Marshal.

Born in Cambridge, New York, John’s roots in Washington County run deep. One of his earliest jobs was delivering milk with his father, including memorable stops at the home of the legendary Grandma Moses. After graduating from SUNY Cortland, John began what would become a remarkable 37-year career as a fifth-grade teacher at Greenwich Central School.

In addition to his decades in the classroom, John made a lasting impact on the football field as a coach, helping to shape the spirited rivalry between Greenwich and Cambridge into one of the region’s most anticipated contests. To this day, generations of students and athletes fondly remember him as both “Mr. Pemrick” and “Coach.”

John married his beloved wife, Roxy Kenyon, and together they raised four children: Mike, Dan, Dave, and Julie, all proud graduates of Greenwich High School. The Pemrick family’s commitment to education and community runs strong: Julie is now a teacher at GHS, Mike coaches, Dan served on the school board, and Dave still holds the 4th-grade 440-yard dash record. Their grandchildren have also walked the halls of GHS, continuing the family’s legacy of school and town pride.

Beyond the classroom and playing field, John devoted over 30 years of service as Town Judge, with Roxy by his side. Known for his fairness, compassion, and unwavering respect for others, he officiated countless marriages, including those of former students, athletes, and even their children.

Even in retirement, John remains a fixture at community events, especially Greenwich football games, where he rarely misses a chance to cheer from the sidelines. He treasures monthly gatherings with retired colleagues and friends, and above all, he delights in time spent with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the neighbors who make up the community he’s long served.

As Grand Marshal of the 2025 Holiday Lighted Tractor Parade, Greenwich proudly celebrates John D. Pemrick’s lifelong dedication to teaching, coaching, service, and community. His legacy shines as brightly as the tractors that light up Main Street tonight.
